Transitioning to Middle & High School:
Overcoming Challenges For Gifted & 2E Students

Presented by Theresa Maher, Gifted Educator
Tuesday, September 15th from 7:00-8:00 PM

This event will be held virtually.  Please register below, and a Zoom link will be sent to you the day prior to the event.

Making the transition to middle school or high school can be tough for some gifted and 2E kids.  Theresa will share some tips and personal experience to help these amazing kids overcome, thrive, and find themselves as they move on to the next stage in their studenthood.

About the Presenter...

​Theresa Maher began her career in education in 2000.  She currently works as a Gifted Education Specialist for the Francis Howell School District working predominantly with Gifted students transitioning into their sixth-grade year.  Theresa also works as a high school teacher; she currently teaches two AP classes, and coaches students on the Francis Howell Speech and Debate teams.  She has taught a variety of classes, written and implemented new curriculum for both middle and high school gifted programs, and provided professional development for Francis Howell staff on topics related to the social and emotional needs of Gifted Students.  Some career highlights include qualifying students to the National Speech and Debate Tournament, directing and producing high school plays and musicals, and being recognized on two separate occasions as an Honorary Teacher at the Missouri Scholars Academy.
